Motorola names the phone its fastest Android model, though independent benchmarks are missing
The Motorola Signature 27 pairs a 12,000-nit display with a 200MP zoom camera for $1,599. TF followed the launch coverage and found no independent tests. Motorola’s performance claims are untested, so “most powerful smartphone” is an open question.
What’s Happening & Why It Matters
What Motorola Announced
Motorola (@moto) announced the Signature 27 on 5 November 2026. The US price is $1,599 (about €1,423) for a single configuration with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Colours are Coal Smoke and Capulet Olive.
Pre-orders open on 19 November through Motorola, Amazon and Best Buy, with shipping from 26 November. Sources conflict on the date, and 9to5Google reports availability from 19 November. The phone is unlocked, and Canada is not on the list.

Display, Chip and Battery
The 6.8-inch tandem OLED panel runs at 1.5K resolution and up to 120Hz. Motorola rates peak brightness at 12,000 nits, with Dolby Vision and HDR10+. Sustained brightness will fall well below the peak figure, as with all phones.
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 powers the phone, with 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. The 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery charges at 90W wired and 50W wireless. Reverse charging reaches 5W wireless and 4.5W wired. Motorola has not published a charge time.
Cameras and Software

The rear system has a 50MP Sony LYTIA main camera with stabilisation and a 50MP ultrawide. A 200MP periscope telephoto adds 3x optical zoom. The front camera is 50MP. Video reaches 8K at 30fps and 4K at 120fps with Dolby Vision.
Android 17 ships with Gemini Intelligence and Motorola’s Qira assistant. Motorola promises seven OS upgrades and up to seven years of security updates. GrapheneOS support is listed for the US model. Audio comes from Bang & Olufsen, and the body carries IP68 and IP69 ratings.
Is Signature 27 the Most Powerful Phone?
No independent review or benchmark exists, so the “fastest Android phone” line is Motorola’s claim. The 7.99mm body raises thermal questions, because heat cuts performance in long sessions. The US model confirms 12GB of RAM, while other regions get 16GB, and Motorola has not explained the gap.
A 200MP periscope with 3x optical zoom suggests the sensor is built for cropping. Zoom samples will matter more than the megapixel count.

My take: The spec sheet is strong, and the seven-year update promise is the most useful number. Peak brightness and megapixel counts are marketing figures. Wait for sustained-performance tests and zoom samples before paying $1,599.
TF Summary: What’s Next
Reviewers will publish benchmarks, thermal tests and camera samples before the 26 November shipping date. Motorola will detail regional pricing and RAM options. Rivals will answer with brighter-panel and faster-charging claims.
MY FORECAST: First reviews will praise the display and battery. Sustained performance will trail rivals’ top Snapdragon phones. Motorola will offer a launch promotion in the US before 31 December 2026.
