Apple TV, once a “small project” for the tech giant, is a popular set-top device that received love at WWDC24. Apple’s best streaming hardware received top billing in the keynote and added innovations that integrate with other Apple hardware and features.
In tvOS 18, the TV app boasts a major new feature — InSight — previously only found on Amazon Prime Video. This will show information about actors, characters, and music for Apple TV+ movies and shows. It will also feature Live Captions (in English) and significant improvements to dialogue and subtitles. Users can also partake in a public beta of tvOS in July, with the full release expected in the fall.
