The 2024 Genesis GV70 is a mid-size luxury SUV produced in Korea that offers stiff competition to German rivals. With its sleek design, comfortable ride, and advanced technology, this vehicle proves to be a strong contender in the luxury car market. Available in both traditional and electric versions, the GV70 strikes a balance between luxury and affordability and is worth considering for luxury SUV buyers.

First Impressions

In general, the GV70 offers a high-quality interior, a spacious cargo area, and a smooth ride. Although it may not handle as well as its German counterparts on winding roads, it offers a refined ride and an adaptive suspension system. The electrified version of the GV70 offers a nearly silent driving experience along with impressive acceleration. However, it does have a modest electric range of 236 miles. For 2024, the GV70 has minor updates, including a standard Wi-Fi hotspot on all trims, as well as some changes to trim levels and available colors.

In terms of space and cargo area, the GV70 offers ample room, but the second row of seating may feel tight for adults with long legs or children in car seats. With its 28.9-cubic-foot cargo area, the GV70 has slightly above-average cargo space for a luxury SUV.

Performance & Fuel Economy

This vehicle offers a 2.5-liter turbocharged engine with 300 horsepower and a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 with 375 horsepower. Electric and hybrid options are also available. The fuel economy for the 2.5T is rated at 22 mpg city, 28 mpg highway, and 24 mpg combined.

The GV70 provides a smooth ride with an adaptive suspension and several driving modes to choose from. However, the steering may not feel as responsive in Sport mode. The electric version of the GV70 is even smoother and offers a silent driving experience.

t/f Summary: Yea or Nay

The 2024 Genesis GV70 starts at $46,500 (excluding taxes and fees) making it cheaper than its German rivals.  The Genesis GV70 is a solid luxury vehicle, offering advanced technology, a luxurious interior, and a smooth ride. With its classic exterior design and optional electric powertrain, the GV70 is a sophisticated and competitive choice for luxury SUV buyers.
