Huskeys Security Introduces Profiling Feature to Enhance Web Application Security

Edge security startup Huskeys Security Ltd. announced today the addition of a new Profiling capability to its platform, aimed at identifying critical components of a company’s web applications.

This enhancement addresses a persistent challenge at the network edge, where many large organizations utilize a collection of third-party security products from various vendors. Tools such as content delivery networks (CDNs), bot defenses, and web application firewalls typically analyze only their specific layers of traffic. Without a comprehensive context from other tools, Huskeys argues that security measures can become overly generic, potentially resulting in the unwarranted blocking of legitimate customers.

Profiling begins with an examination of the application itself. The software analyzes requests to each endpoint, determining the nature of interactions from both human users and automated processes. It identifies the most crucial paths for business operations and highlights existing security controls. With this tailored profile, Huskeys evaluates incoming requests according to the specific standards of the customer’s application.

Roy Weisfeld, co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Huskeys, emphasized that many organizations use a one-size-fits-all approach to security, akin to a shopping mall with a single team guarding all stores uniformly, regardless of their distinct security needs. The Profiling feature aims to provide individualized protection for each “store,” ensuring that security measures are as tailored as the applications themselves.

This tailored approach is the initial step in what Huskeys refers to as its Hardening Loop. The platform continuously monitors profiled paths for signs of abuse and, upon detection, recommends appropriate fixes that are expected to yield the most significant impact. Importantly, customers have the final say before any security changes are implemented.

Notably, Huskeys measures the effectiveness of each change, ensuring it achieves the desired outcome. Yotam Mazurik, who heads the company’s research team, stated that the customer’s decisions drive the process while Huskeys provides the necessary insights and recommendations.

The introduction of Profiling comes at a pivotal time, as automated traffic constitutes an increasingly significant portion of the requests reaching web applications. Cloudflare Inc. CEO Matthew Prince reported in June that automated requests accounted for over 50% of traffic on Cloudflare’s network. Much of this traffic stems from artificial intelligence agents conducting online shopping and transaction activities on behalf of users. Traditional security solutions that rely solely on traffic signatures struggle to differentiate between these agents and malicious bots.

The urgency to address the diminishing timeframe between vulnerability disclosures and their exploitation further underscores the relevance of Huskeys’ new feature. Weisfeld noted the years security teams have invested in improving response times; however, he advocates for a proactive approach—understanding critical assets before incidents occur to minimize exposure instead of racing against time to respond.

Currently in beta with a select group of customers, the Profiling feature requires no specialized onboarding and shows results in a matter of hours. Huskeys has successfully raised $35 million to date, including $8 million announced at its launch in March. A $27 million Series A investment round was led by Blackstone Inc.’s Blackstone Innovations Investments, which further underscores the growing interest in innovative security solutions.
