Portugal’s self-driving car testing decree-law, published as Law no. 113/2026, enters into force in July 2026 — allowing autonomous vehicle trials on public roads across Lisbon, Porto, and the Algarve under strict safety, insurance, and licensing rules. The framework covers V2V, V2I, and V2X communication from the outset.
